Founded by Amanda and now in its 15 year, Newsmakers is an award-winning  consultancy with clients in Norwich, Ipswich, Cambridge and across the East of England, into London and the Channel Islands.

Having one of the best contacts books in the business, Amanda is a dynamic and successful business woman and networker, bringing people together and getting her clients in the media every day.

With a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism, Amanda's background includes working as a broadcast journalist and presenter. She was the Social Diary Editor for the Eastern Daily Press for more than 6 years and is the Social Diary Editor for Places & Faces magazine.

Passionate, determined and dedicated about everything she puts her name to, Amanda is an experienced facilitator and media trainer providing masterclasses and workshops on media communications and presentation skills.

A member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, Amanda has been on the London-based Women in Journalism committee and the Women in Film and Television events committee. She is also a former committee member for the Royal Television Society, East Anglia.

Amanda is a member of the ultra-fashionable film and media club Soho House world-wide.

Award-winning journalist, presenter and broadcaster, Harry Mitchell, is Director of PR at Newsmakers

Harry first became part of the Newsmakers team 10 years ago while he was news editor and breakfast show news presenter at Norwich-based Radio Broadland.

During his 6 years on the airwaves, Harry edited the daily news agenda and managed a team of journalists. He contributed to the UK Newsdesk providing news content for 16 million listeners each day as well as writing and presenting news and current affairs packages for Classic FM, the country's largest commercial radio station.

Harry went on to become Head of News at Norfolk Constabulary where he managed the daily news agenda and a team of communications officers. He also helped design and implement the new look Corporate Communications function for Norfolk and Suffolk Constabularies.

A skilled media trainer, Harry coached the UK's up-coming commercial radio news editors for the national GCap News Editor School. At the police Harry trained officers of all ranks in media handling, presentation skills and interview techniques.

Harry has a BA Hons from Durham University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from leading broadcast trainer, University College Falmouth.

His passion is Newsmakers, music, playing the piano and saxophone. He also enjoys running, films and fine dining.

Harry returned to Newsmakers as Director of PR in 2011.

Carey has been producing highly exciting and effective design solutions for Newsmakers for more than 6 years.

After completing a degree in Graphic Design at Kingston University, London, Carey began her design career in London, working for international brands such as Marks & Spencer, Boots and Joseph. She later returned to Norfolk as a designer for Weston Park.

Carey has extensive experience creating eye-catching and stunning designs from corporate branding, digital and web design to brochures, banners and business cards.

Surrey Beddows has an impressive media background.

A former Head of News for ITV Anglia, responsible for multi-million pound budgets, she ran the main TV newsroom and six satellite studios.

Surrey has trained and worked with many of the journalists and presenters you see on national and international television today. She is used to setting the daily news agenda, liaising with ITN and broadcasters across the world.

She has worked in newspapers, radio and television as a journalist, reporter, lobby correspondent, news reader and news editor both in the UK and abroad. An award-winning programme maker, former judge for the Royal Television Society Awards and member of the Society of Editors, Surrey is an experienced media trainer and conference speaker.

Surrey is used to working in a live, pressured TV environment with tight deadlines. She fully understands how the media works, what it wants and how Newsmakers' clients can benefit from coverage.

Charlotte Eve Copywriter

Charlotte is an exceptional writer, crafting award-winning and engaging copy for Newsmakers' clients.

After completing a degree in Psychology at Bristol University and a postgraduate course in Creative Advertising at University College Falmouth, she joined GWR radio group writing radio ads and promotions.

Charlotte creates outstanding concepts and words for regional, national and international brands in fashion, retail, motors, finance, local government, education and many more. She writes for TV, radio, magazines and websites. Her copy is bang-on-brief and works.

Charlotte is also an acclaimed singer, a keen sailor and passionate about sustainability.
